Stainless Steel has inherent characteristics that lend themselves to the design of thin wall piping systems:
- Resistant to corrosion
- Reduced oxidation
- Resists high temperatures
- Low maintenance costs
- Very low risk of contamination
Pipe is produced in a specific range of sizes (see table below) and is available in grades 304 and 316, in approximately 6m lengths for welded pipe, and between 5m and 7m length for seamless.
Grade 304 is most widely used for general corrosive-resistant pipe and is often found in:
- Brewery & Dairy
- Refineries
- Paper mills
- Food Processing industry
Grade 316 has enhanced corrosion resistance and is more widely found in:
- Chemical plant apparatus
- Photographic equipment
- Sulphite paper industry
- Medical industry
- Marine environments
